Farm View
The idea I have started this project a few months ago. My parents own an agricultural land and they asked me what can they cultivate on that land without involving much work on their side. My idea was to cultivate hazel trees. This idea was well received except for one thing: the plants should be monitored, something my parents can’t do because they have full jobs. Tacking into account that I had finished an engineering university, I had to find a solution to this problem using my knowledges. So that was the moment when I come up with this idea: To create a system that monitors the growing process of the hazel trees.

Optical tremolo
Optical tremolo Among the many cool projects I saw on MakeZine, one caught my attention as a possible cool gift for dad, who is a great guitar player. It’s called the Optical Tremolo Box and it’s a tremolo effect for the guitar, which looks very interesting because it has a motor and rotates a semi-transparent disk between an LED and a light-sensitive resistor. The first version of the effect seemed too simplistic and ineffective. There is also a second version, as if too complicated. So I decided to do something intermediate: in the first version model, I replaced the potentiometer that regulates the motor speed with a circuit that drives the motor with PWM (pulse width modulation), made with the integrated 555. Quite simple and effective, because it reduces current consumption (important, considering that the device is powered by batteries) and allows better control of the engine (at least theoretically).
Simultan 2015
Simultan 2015 The festival theme Simultan 2015 was “Talking to strangers” and PlanZero participated with two projects: “A message to outer-space” and “Synchronized” Photos from the preparations: And a video from the corridor where you can see the lights of the “Synchronized” installation and hear the messages left/launched by visitors through the “A message to outer-space” installation:
